A Genie operator is its own parts list. Intellicode radios, a screw-drive rail, and the safe-beam that belongs to that head do not borrow LiftMaster hardware. We service the unit that is installed.
What to tell us
The model on the head, whether the rail is a screw, and whether the beam at the floor still lights. A screw drive that chatters is not diagnosed the same way as a chain that has slack.
The beam and the console
The wall console and the floor beam are part of this system. A beam fault can look like a dead motor. Say if the console shows a steady error or only fails while the door moves.
Not a dealer page
Compatibility is not an authorized Genie dealer claim. If the head is finished, the replacement is chosen to the weight of the door and the headroom, not to a logo preference alone.
Screw drive is its own rail
A Genie screw-drive rail chatters and wears in a way a belt drive does not. Intellicode radios, where that is what the head actually has, do not borrow a LiftMaster remote. Older Genie heads use a different radio entirely. The safe-beam at the floor and the wall console belong to the system on the ceiling. Tell us the model, whether you can see a screw, and whether the beam still lights.
Noise is not automatically a dead motor
A screw drive that has gone dry can sound finished when the motor is not. Lubrication of that rail and a worn carriage are separate from a logic board. We look before we condemn the head. If the door is heavy by hand, the spring is the first conversation, and a new Genie will not hide that.
