Lower Keys
Little Torch is its own island, mostly canals and houses.
About this area
Little Torch Key sits between Big Pine and Ramrod, cut with canals and lined with houses. It does not have Big Pine's pine forest or Ramrod's shorter marine strip. Doors here are residential, often facing water on one side and a narrow paved finger on the other.
- Road
- US-1 plus canal fingers
- Housing
- Canal houses, frequently raised
- Constraint
- Easy to mis-file as Big Pine if the note is careless
Do not assume we already know Big Pine
The islands share a stretch of highway and nothing else about the driveway. Write Little Torch in the first line.
Finger width
Some fingers are barely two cars wide. Spring bars and an open van door need that warning.
Common questions
Is Middle Torch included?
If the opening is on Middle Torch, say so. It is adjacent and not automatically this page's street list.
Are these doors wind-rated by default because they face water?
No. Facing water does not confer a rating. A rating is a specification, discussed on the wind-rated page.
