Does insulation make the door wind rated?
No, a core or a glued kit does not create a wind rating for the assembly. Wind rating is a tested combination of door, track, struts, and anchors. Insulation changes weight and stiffness, and the springs have to follow that weight.
Is a kit glued to my old door the same as a new insulated door?
A kit adds a layer to the old skin, and a cored door is built with the insulation inside. The kit can loosen, and it does not give the hinges and springs the same structure. If the goal is a real core, the door is measured and ordered as a door, not as a pad.
Will my opener lift an insulated replacement?
