Glass Garage Doors in Palmetto Bay
These doors use a frame that often weighs more than it looks. One cracked pane in a straight frame can be glass only, and a twisted frame is different. The glass by itself is not a wind rating, even when the opening is full of it. Aluminum does not rust the way the steel hinges on that door can. We measure the frame, the panes, and the springs before any glass is ordered.
Cracked pane or racked frame
A cracked pane in a square frame can be glass only. A frame that is twisted, racked, or pulled out of the track is a different repair. The door can feel heavier than a plain steel section of the same size. Springs have to match that weight, and the opener may need a check too. Safe looks from inside
You can see whether one pane is cracked and whether the frame still looks square. Do not touch the springs, the cables, or the set screws while you study the glass. Leave tape off the photo eyes, and do not tape the broken pane as a permanent fix.

Shade on the glass door

Canal houses keep enclosed garages, not open docks, so the glass door is a house door. Water nearby does not make the glass into a rated assembly. Mention a raised floor if the frame lives in open air, because most of these bays are enclosed.
